Product Description

Loose Ring Thin Jointed Bradoon Bit is a simple piece that acts in a similar manner to a Snaffle bit. Bradoons are generally used in conjunction with a curb bit, and when used together the bradoon should be 1/4" to 1/2" longer than the curb for them to both lie comfortably in the mouth. A bradoon can be used on its own, specifically for ponies as the rings are smaller than those of a normal sized snaffle rings. When used on its own it has the effect of a snaffle bit This piece however is made a little smaller, used alongside a Weymouth bit in a double bridle to provide control over the side to side movement of your horses head, as well as directional commands. The Bradoon bit is made to sit above and behind the Weymouth piece, with its bit rings coming out at the sides of your horses mouth to connect to the bridle. The Loose rings used for this piece create a rather free moving piece, offering the Loose Ring Weymouth Bradoon Bit more flexibility that is intended to increase comfort for your horse, encouraging movement that will help your horse to relax their jaw and accept the bit a little easier. In the mouth, the mouthpiece is made in a single joint fashion, with two small rings connecting to allow certain motions that apply pressure around the mouth. In this case, the Loose Ring Weymouth Bradoon Bit is able to bring the ends of the mouthpiece together, creating a pinching motion that places pressure along the bars of the mouth. Meanwhile, the joint itself is able to shoot out to create a pointed piece, providing a harsher action that presses against the roof of your horses mouth when applied.
The Stainless Steel make up of the Loose Ring Weymouth Bradoon Bit makes it an extremely tough piece, able to cope with any biting or struggling from your horse, while the pulling from your reins is taken on with little trouble. As well as this, the smooth finish is maintained by the materials rust proof qualities, while also being easy to clean after use.
